Week 4: And Beyond – A Little Sidelined But Still Working

Balancing time is not always easy and this Ramadan has been productive, Alhamdulillah (all praise to Allah) but with so many things on the go we lost track of time.

Now that the contest is over, how did we do with our show so far… Well?

A few updates

So did we achieve or initial goals of an episode for Ramadan, sadly no, but Alhamdulillah we have what we pray is a good foundation for something good in the coming months.

After a number of conversations and many hours of planning we are still moving ahead.

A number of volunteers have offered to help with various aspects of our project and Insha’Allah (if Allah wills) they will continue to aid us with our long term goals for TalkIslam.tv

Whats In Our Future

Spreading the word is always a big part of any project and we have a few things in the works.

We are launching a design contest this week to enlist the aid of brothers and sisters with design elements.

Also we have an online campaign planned, utilizing online networks (FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube) to promote the official launch and the first episode.

May Allah reward all our fellow participants for their efforts in this years challenge, ameen

Jazak Allahu Khair

Week 3: Forgotten Post – Plans Haven’t Changed – TalkIslam.tv To Continue

Time is at a premium and the one thing we have learned is the time involved in video production.

Writing, filming, editing, sound production, so many aspects to consider and details most of us don’t consider when watching our favorite lecture or online video production.

Alhamdulillah (All praise to Allah) we have learned so much and will continue to strive to launch TalkIslam.tv. Insha’Allah we will continue…

Week 2: Volunteers Always Make For A Stronger Team

Surat ‘Ali `Imran (Family of Imran):

“And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.”

One thing one learns very quickly with initiatives to help others is that they is so much to do and so few hands.

We have met with a few brothers to discuss our long term Dawah goals and have come up with a list of future positions.

  1. Photography/Video
  2. Video Editing
  3. Audio related skills (recording/editing) – I have no experience her
  4. Expertise in effects software (i.e. Adobe After Effects or similar software)
  5. Web Design/Development
  6. Writers/Researchers
  7. Graphic Designers (Web & Print)
  8. Business expertise for donation initiatives/non-profit business’s
  9. Looking for guests interested and are comfortable in front of the camera to discuss all things Islam

Brothers & Sisters welcome

May Allah reward you all for your deeds & intentions
